Australia may not experience white Christmases and we do not kiss under the mistle toe or drink egg-nog in front of the fire place. However we do know how to celebrate this silly season, arguably better than anywhere else. We find ourselves tottering between Christmas bbq’s and sighting reindeers frolicking down at the shores of our beaches on 40 degree days. More importantly as Aussies and honourary Aussies alike we know how to celebrate Christmas time in style.

 Advent Calendars certainly do set the tone for this time of year. I mean who doesn’t love waking up in the morning and having a golden chocolate coin before 8 am… Traditionally advent calendars can be traced back to the 19th century. Where a candle was lit each day for the 24 days leading up to Christmas.  With only a matter of days left until this silly season draws to an end it is important to take a moment here and there to appreciate all we are thankful for and of course to get excited over such a special time of year. As families come together and children start to wonder what their stockings will fruit we pay tribute to Australia, the lucky country. And of course to all the beautiful produce it provides for us.
